In March 2011 Madam Wokie was invited to participate in its first ever international fashion show; Arise Magazine Fashion Week in Lagos, Nigeria. As a brand we were very excited about the prospect of displaying Sierra Leonean Fashion on a global platform and worked hard to showcase a collection that paid homage to our heritage.
While many people are accustomed to the glitz and glamour of fashion shows and the catwalk, not much is known about what happens behind the scene. We therefore decided to share a few pictures to show you what the experience is like.
We would also like to say a big thank you to Terence Sambo aka One Nigerian Boy, and designers and stylists Bayo Oke-Lawal and Bubu Ogisi for helping us backstage. You guys were incredible and we couldn't have done it without you.
