2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit

In November 2017 Maryann Kaikai, Creative Director of Madam Wokie, attended the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Hyderabad, India, hosted by the Governments of India and the United States of America.

GES is the preeminent annual entrepreneurship gathering that convenes emerging entrepreneurs, investors and supporters from around the world. GES 2017 created an environment that empowers innovators, particularly women, to take their ideas to the next level. Through two and a half days of networking, mentoring, and workshops, GES empowered entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas, build partnerships, secure funding, innovate, and find their target customers -- creating new goods and services that will transform societies.   The 2017 GES highlighted the theme Women First, Prosperity for All, and focused on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally.

Prior to attending the GES in India, Maryann Kaikai, I had an interview with the U.S. Embassy Freetown Public Affairs section on her hopes for the trip a. The US Embassy has been a long term supporter of Madam Wokie, and Madam Wokie looks forward to building on our partnership, and working together to increase female entrepreneurship among youths in Sierra Leone. 2018 is going to be all about giving back and empowering the next generation of change makers.

Below are photos from the Summit... enjoy.
